Arthritis Toolkits Available at the Library
Do you suffer from the effects of arthritis? If you do,
learning how to manage your pain through diet and
exercise is very important. The South Carolina
Department of Health and Environmental Control office
has developed The Arthritis Toolkit: a Self-Study
Program to assist individuals in learning about
their illness and how to manage it through diet,
exercise and medication along with managing the
emotional affects of work, relationships and other
responsibilities. The kits include a book, The
Arthritis Helpbook, arthritis self-test with
self-score instructions, a relaxation CD, 2 exercise
CDs, information sheets on common problems and solutions
of arthritis sufferers and an exercise action plan. The
kits can be borrowed from Dorchester County Library on
an extended loan. Each library has two kits available
for checkout. For more information, call your local
library branch.
