Overdue Materials Recovery

What happens when your items are:
  • 1 Week Overdue?
    First notice from the library - Email only.
  • 2 Weeks Overdue?
    Second Email notice from the library - or first telephone notification (recorded message) if no Email address available.
  • 30 Days from the due date?
    The library assumes you have lost materials – Telephone notification (recorded message).
  • 60 Days Overdue?
    In addition to the existing overdue fines, your library account is charged the replacement cost of materials and a non-refundable administrative fee per item.  The library forwards your account to Unique Management (UM), a materials recovery agency, and the library account is charged $10.00.  UM sends three letters and calls you twice.
  • 180 Days Overdue?
    Replacement cost and fines must be paid and items may not be returned.
181 Days Overdue?
UM reports your overdue account to a credit bureau.
